ACHILLES TENDONITIS

Hello Pamperettes!

There is no question that running is beneficial for both the body and mind.
I’m so proud of my clients, who have been keeping up with their running routine for years now!

Personally, it keeps me on track with motivation and helps clear my head from the little nagging thoughts that creep in sometimes. I love the happy hormones boost after a morning run, too! However, it has its risks of severe injury. Have you had the terrible feeling of grating in your Achilles’ tendons?

Tendons connect our muscles to the bones in the body’s joints - knees, elbows, shoulders. With the Achilles being the longest and strongest tendon in the body, injuries can be excruciating and long-lasting. Some of the symptoms of Achilles tendonitis include pain which only gets worse with movement or difficulty to move the joint at all, crackling sensation in the Achilles or even redness and swelling.

Massage can benefit tendonitis in multiple ways, two of which speed up healing and reduce stiffness and pain. In addition, massage breaks up adhesions and relieves tightness in the calves, reaching the muscle and fascia to improve mobility.

We have created a specific programme - Runner’s Massage - to tackle this issue and guide you through your recovery. The carefully curated restoration includes two to six treatments, aiming to relax and lengthen the muscles. Rest is a crucial element of this physical therapy plan. Give yourself three to five days between your treatments for the tendon pain to subside. Then, enrich your programme with the G5 machine to disperse fluid, aid relaxation and increase circulation even further.

The Runner’s Massage programme has had such fantastic feedback. Professional and passionate amateur runners schedule regular appointments and enjoy injury-free regular exercise. So hurry and book your slot, get back into your routine in no time!
